Dreaming of a Salt Box

Two summers ago I was reading Country Living and came across designer Victoria Hagen's weekend retreat--an idyllic escape from the city. The traditional salt box structure prides itself with symmetry, balance, and simplicty, some of the most important elements of design. From an exterior perspective, the house exudes a sense of grace inviting the visitor inside. The architecture, at a first glance, may seem understated, yet the home is impossible to overlook. The picture-perfect lawn and manuicured landscaping compliments the structure, while the interiors represent sophisticated comfort.
